Moving your practice online
One day online workshop for delivering online counselling
OCST will be running a one day workshop on Saturday 16th May for those counselling practitioners are wanting to include online counselling for their clients.
Due to the current Pandemic situation with Corona Virus this is proving to be a requirement for all counsellors who wish to continue working with existing clients online, and to offer online counselling to new clients.
This one day workshop will provide all essential details for effective, ethical, and legally compliant delivery of webcam or voice only online counselling. A full range of reading resources and relevant practical, ethical and legal guidance documents will be provided for students
The workshop will be held completely online. Date: Saturday 16th May from 10-00am - 3-00pm. The online workshop fee is £85 per delegate place and a CPD will be issued for successful completion. If you would like further information or to register please use the email facility on the OCST website. Places are limited so it is advised to register over the next week.
It has been recommended by BACP and ACTO that counsellors who offer an online practice receive in-depth training to achieve standards for online counselling practice, but due to the current pandemic situation counsellors are being advised to familiarise themselves fully with the requirements to work online and then to seriously consider moving onto more in depth training with recognised training providers. This workshop programme offered by OCST helps practitioners understand key aspects of working online with clients but is not being put forward as in depth training to achieve this. Counsellors would need to consider engaging with furhter training after the workshop participation.
